Pickled Nasturtium Seeds or Nasturtium Capers Ingredients

• 1 Cup Nasturtium Seeds

• 1 Cup white Vinegar

• 1 teaspoon salt or to taste

• 1 bay leaf

• 5-8 black peppercorns slightly crushed (optional)

• 5-8 coriander seeds (optional)

• 2-3 green chili chopped or some dried flakes (Optional)

• 1/2 -1 inch ginger chopped into tiny cubes (Optional)

• 1 clove of garlic chopped

Instructions

1. Clean and rinse the nasturtium seeds. 2. Rinse it well to get rid of any impurities and dirt, simply soak them in salty water for at least half an hour. This will help to remove any hidden bugs.

3. Drain and rinse it thoroughly in clean tap water.

4. Tap it dry using a clean muslin cloth. 5. Add the Nasturtium seeds in the mason jar. Add a bay leaf and your garlic. 6. Add Vinegar, salt in a heavy bottom pot. 7. If using the optional ingredients add them too.

8. Let the mixture come to a boil.

9. Once boiled, switch off and pour the vinegar solution over the Nasturtium seeds. 10. Let it cool completely before closing the lid. 11. Let this mixture sit for 2-3 days before consuming.
