Coconut Macaroon Brownies

When it’s a snowy day we make brownies! ❄️ ⛄️

Coconut Macaroon Brownies

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup butter, softened

2 cups white sugar

4 large eggs

1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

¾ teaspoon cream of tartar

½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

½ cup chopped walnuts

4 cups unsweetened flaked coconut

1 (14 ounces) can sweetened condensed milk

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 350 degrees F.

Step 2: Apply cooking spray in a 9×13-inch baking pan. (I opted for our bakers edge pan)

Step 3: In a large mixing bowl, add the sugar and butter. Beat until well mixed.

Step 4: Add in eggs gradually and beat every addition. Add 1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla and stir.

Step 5: In a small bowl, add the cream of tartar, cocoa, and flour. Whisk until well mixed. Transfer the mixture into the egg mixture and stir until well combined.

Step 6: Add in the walnuts and stir. Transfer 1/2 of the mixture into the greased pan.

Spread evenly on the bottom.

Step 7: In a medium mixing bowl, add the coconut, 1 tablespoon of vanilla, and sweetened condensed milk. Stir until well mixed to make the middle layer.

Step 8: Spread the mixture on top of the chocolate mixture. Spread the rest of the chocolate batter on top of the coconut mixture layer.

Step 9: Place inside the preheated oven and bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until the top turns dark brown.

Step 10: Remove from the oven and let it sit on a wire rack to cool at room temperature.

Step 11: Serve and enjoy!
