📝 INGREDIENTS
Dough:
• 1 cup lukewarm milk
• ½ cup + 1 tsp sugar
• 1 packet active dry yeast (2¼ tsp)
• 4½ cups all-purpose flour
• 2 tsp salt
• 2 large eggs (beaten)
• ⅓ cup unsalted butter (room temp)
Topping:
• 4–6 raw dyed eggs
• 1 egg + 1 tsp water (egg wash)
• Sprinkles (optional)
👩🍳 INSTRUCTIONS
In a bowl, mix milk, 1 tsp sugar, and yeast. Let sit 5–8 minutes until foamy.
In a large bowl, combine flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Add yeast mixture + eggs. Mix until soft dough forms.
Add butter gradually, kneading until smooth (8–10 minutes).
Place dough in greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1½–2 hours (until doubled).
Punch down and divide into 3 pieces. Roll into ropes and braid. Form into a circle and pinch ends.
Place on baking sheet. Add dyed eggs into braid. Cover and rise again 30–45 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350°F. Brush with egg wash + add sprinkles.
Bake 25–30 minutes until golden brown. Cool slightly and serve warm.
💡 TIP:
The eggs cook right in the oven—no need to boil first!
