š§ š One Pot French Onion Pasta with Crispy Prosciutto šš§
This is what happens when French onion soup meets pasta⦠and itās UNREAL š¤¤š„
Rich caramelized onions, melty cheese, crispy prosciutto, and a creamy, savory sauceāall in ONE pot š
⨠Ingredients (serves 6ā8):
⢠6 tbsp salted butter
⢠3ā4 medium yellow onions, thinly sliced
⢠1 1/4 cups dry white wine (Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc)
⢠3 cloves garlic, chopped
⢠2 cups cremini or wild mushrooms, sliced
⢠2 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
⢠2 tbsp fresh sage, chopped
⢠3 cups low sodium chicken or vegetable broth
⢠1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
⢠1 lb short cut pasta
⢠Kosher salt & black pepper
⢠3 oz prosciutto, torn
⢠1/2 cup heavy cream or milk
⢠1 cup shredded gruyere cheese
⢠4 oz burrata cheese (room temp)
š„ Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake prosciutto on a lined sheet for 10ā15 min until crispy.
In a large pot, melt butter and cook onions until soft. Slowly add 3/4 cup wine, cooking it into the onions. Continue cooking until deeply caramelized (10ā15 min).
Add garlic, mushrooms, thyme & sage. Cook 3ā4 minutes. Stir in remaining wine, broth, Worcestershire, salt & pepper. Bring to a boil.
Add pasta and cook, stirring, until al dente and liquid is mostly absorbed (8ā10 min). Stir in cream and gruyere.
Break burrata over top, gently mix, and finish with crispy prosciutto.
